Amir started his studies in 2011 at the University of Strathclyde and excelled. After successfully completing his studies and pre-registration training, he worked as a community pharmacy locum throughtout Scotland, gaining invaluable experience in this sector.

After a couple years, he acquired his first pharmacy in Glasgow. He has been the superintendent for two years and the pharmacy went from being untrusted and rarely used to key part of the local healthcare community. After much hard work and dedication, North Park provides a vital service to the local community and work closely with local healthcare professionals.

He then went on to complete his pharmacist independent prescribing course at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen whilst in the early stages of acquiring the pharmacy. After working tirelessly, he was successfull in achieving his prescribing practice certificate.

His focus shifted to weight management in response to the increasing prevalence of weight-related comorbidities in Scotland. This was emphasised when he took over at North Park and realised how bad the issue was within GGC. This realisation made Amir shift his focus to weight related issues within his sector and thus NuVina was born.

Amir's extensive experience in community pharmacy combined with his specialised clinical knowledge as a prescriber makes him the perfect first reviewer for our eligibility assessments, ensuring every patient receives thorough and expert evaluation.

Dr Peter Steele

Dr Peter Steele is a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with a specialist interest in head and neck oncology and reconstructive surgery. After completing medical training at the University of Aberdeen in 2008, Dr Steele undertook foundation training on the west coast of Scotland, with clinical rotations in ENT surgery, neurosurgery, and the National Spinal Injuries Unit. This was followed by basic surgical training in Scotland and the pursuit of a dental degree at King's College London.

Having completed higher surgical training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Scotland, Dr Steele now practices as a head and neck surgeon, bringing together a strong background in both medicine and dentistry with a focus on complex oncological and reconstructive cases.

Dr Steele's transition into weight management represents a natural evolution of his medical expertise. His extensive surgical background provides him with unique insights into the health complications of obesity, particularly in the head and neck region. His comprehensive understanding of complex medical conditions, combined with his experience in patient assessment and treatment planning, makes him ideally suited to evaluate weight management candidates and ensure safe, effective treatment protocols. His meticulous approach to patient care translates perfectly to the careful consideration required for weight management prescribing decisions.
